The one question that I’ve been getting asked more than anything else here lately is how to root the Pandigital Planet and install Google apps to get access to Google’s Android appstore.
The Pandigital Planet is an inexpensive Android tablet that runs Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread (at least it is supposed to; mine is stuck on 2.2.1 and won’t update). It has a decent amount of features for the price but doesn’t come with any Google apps. So here is. The tutorial on how to root the Pandigital Planet to get access to the Android Market (Google Play).

Last week Asus released a much-anticipated firmware update for the original Asus Transformer tablet that upgraded the operating system from Android 3.2 Honeycomb to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
Right after the update I posted a video review showing the changes, and at first everything seemed well and good, but now my Transformer has been having all kinds of problems since the ICS update. I’m ready to get rid of it and move onto something else if Asus doesn’t roll out a fix in the next couple of weeks.

This article will show you how to install and use TWRP Recovery on the Kindle Fire to flash custom ROMs on it to transform it into a completely new tablet with different builds of Android—CM7, aka Cyanogenmod 7, for Android 2.3.4 or CM9 for Android 4.0, MIUI, and various other ROMs.
Among other things, you can also use TWRP Recovery to backup ROMs and backup your Kindle so that it can be restored to exactly how it was before installing ROMs. It sounds complicated at first but after you do it a few times it becomes really easy.

Below you will find a list of seven places to download and install Android apps for your Android tablet, phone, or ereader, including the Kindle Fire, Kobo Vox, rooted Nook Touch, Pandigital tablets, and pretty much any other device that allows the installation of third party apps.
Since a lot of tablets don’t come with access to the official Android Market, users have to either find a hack to add it to their device, which can be complicated and often voids the warranty. The easier option is to use alternatives appstores. That’s where this post comes in…

This is another interactive story app much like yesterday’s offering of a Charlie Brown Christmas. It is based on the 1964 TV special of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, complete with artwork and audio tracks from the claymation classic.

Back in September Sony released a tablet-specific Sony Reader app for Android. At the time it was only compatible with the Sony Tablet S, but they said it would be updated to support other tablets in early December.
I happened to remember this fact yesterday so decided to check the Android Market to see if Sony had updated the Reader for Tablet app. And they have. It now works with any tablet running Android 3.0 and up.
