To the delight of speculative fiction fans, Amazon announced yesterday a new Kindle exclusive offer for a free subscription to the Fantasy & Science Fiction Magazine.
The offer isn’t for the Fantasy & Science Fiction Magazine in its entirety, instead the free subscription is a shortened version that offers one short story per issue and all the nonfiction articles, which includes all the editor’s recommendations, film and book reviews, cartoons, etc, along with the descriptions of the full issue’s remaining stories.

This is going to be the last free ebooks post for awhile. To be perfectly honest free ebooks posts are more trouble than they are worth because they are time-consuming to create and then a few weeks later the posts are pretty much worthless since most free ebooks only last for a limited time.
So for this post, instead of listing a bunch of free ebooks that will soon expire, I’ve listed the places where you can keep updated on the latest free ebooks yourself. And don’t forget the main free ebooks page for the list of most popular websites to get free ebooks from. Enjoy!

Barnes and Noble rolled out a new marketing campaign that started yesterday. If you take an ereader into a Barnes and Noble retail store and show it to the clerk, you can get a free 2GB microSD card with 30 free ebooks on it with the purchase of a Nook Touch, Nook Color, or Nook 1st Edition.
You don’t actually have to give the ereader away, just show it to the staff. Barnes and Noble are confident customers will want to upgrade to the new Nook when comparing it side-by-side with another brand.

Amazon has a ton of free ebooks available once again, including several free cookbooks, and a lot of them are quite pricey so they probably won’t stay free for very much longer.
These free ebooks aren’t just for Kindle devices. If you’re reading this that means you’re likely doing so on a computer, tablet, or maybe even a phone—there are free Kindle apps for those too.

Here are some more free ebooks for this week. The ones from Amazon and Barnes and Noble are restricted to their supported devices and apps, but the Sony ebooks use regular Adobe DRM so they can be read on any Adobe-supporting device—most all ereaders support Adobe DRM.
Note that most of these free ebooks are promotional and are only free for a limited time. Plus more free ebooks can be found on the free ebooks page.

Yesterday Zinio
released their much-anticipated Android application that provides access to more than 20,000 magazines.
It even comes with 24 free magazines, full issues too (actually I’m only seeing 22 but the press release says 24). The magazines are free until June 15th and include titles such as Cosmopolitan, ESPN The Magazine, Harvard Business Review, Men’s Fitness, O, The Oprah Magazine, and Us Weekly
