Came across this on Twitter, Kobo is giving away 5 Kobo eReaders this week and 5 more next week (May 18th-31st).

All you have to do is buy an ebook from the Kobo ebook store to be entered in the contest. Actually, I skimmed over the rules and you don’t even have to buy an ebook. You can send a fax instead.

Here are the entry rules:

No purchase necessary. To enter the Contest, simply go to Kobobooks.com, find the eBook of your choice and click on the ‘Buy’ button to purchase. Complete your purchase and you will automatically be entered for a chance to win (“eBook entries”) OR participate without having to buy an eBook by sending a Fax (“Fax Entries”) to: 416.977.2889 setting out your full legal name, city or town of residence, age, daytime telephone number with area code, email address and a description in approximately 35 words why you like Kobo. eBook Entries and Fax Entries must be received during the contest period. The sole determinant of time for the purposes of receipt of a valid entry will be the sponsor’s server machine (s). Limit of six (6) entries, regardless of method of entry.

The Kobo eReader has been out in Canada for about a week or so now, and people really seem to be liking it so far, especially the low $149 price.

And today the Kobo Reader officially went on sale in the US at Borders.com for $149, where they are taking pre-orders for a June 17th release.

Just a quick note, Kobo has added a couple of videos about their new Kobo Reader to YouTube. One has been added to our Kobo eReader page and the other is a teaser that doesn't reveal much.

Also, 2 days ago they put up a sneak peak of the Kobo Reader software on the iPad. Here's the video of it . . .
