In Store Exclusive Content For Nook

Once again, Barnes and Noble is offering access to exclusive content from bestselling and new authors to all Nook owners who visit any Barnes and Noble retail store with their Nook.

The Nook will automatically detect Barnes and Noble’s free in store WiFi and will display a “More In Store” option in the shop area at the bottom of the page.

B&N’s In-Store Free eBook Promotion

Barnes and Noble issued a press release yesterday about another in-store promotion for Nook owners, iRex DR-800 owners (it’s tied in to B&N’s store as well), and any other mobile device (phones, ipods, etc) with B&N’s eReader software installed.

Take any of these to a B&N store to get a voucher to download a free ebook each week for the next five weeks.

To participate, customers simply have to show a bookseller a NOOK eBook Reader or iRex DR800SG device – both powered by the Barnes & Noble eBookstore – or the free BN eReader software on an iPad™, iPhone®, iPod touch®, BlackBerry®, HTC HD2™, PC or Mac® and the bookseller will provide the special weekly access code. Booksellers at the NOOK display in any Barnes & Noble store will gladly help customers download the free BN eReader software to their computing or mobile device so that they can enjoy the promotion. Additional information on the promotion is available at http://www.barnesandnoble.com/u/Free-ebooks-bestelling-authors/379002210.

To redeem the free eBook, customers will simply enter the weekly access code at www.bn.com/redeem, download the title to their Barnes & Noble digital library, and enjoy reading on one or more of their BN eReader-enabled devices. Each access code can be redeemed through July 1, 2010. Among the titles from bestselling authors and series offered in the Fun and Free eBook promotion are The Long Tail by Chris Anderson, Home Safe by Elizabeth Berg, Storm Front by Jim Butcher, One Shot by Lee Childs and The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith.
