Kindle Paperwhite 4 on Sale at Woot

November 3, 2021 by Nathan 1 Comment

Kindle Paperwhite 4

There’s a deal on the previous generation Kindle Paperwhite at Woot that’s actually quite a bit better than it may appear on the surface.

For the next three days or until sold out, the Kindle Paperwhite 4 is available for $79.99 in new condition, and what makes it a good deal is the fact that it’s the version without ads.

The Paperwhite 4 has been on sale at that price off and on for several weeks now, except that was the Special Offers version that comes with ads, so this sale is essentially $20 lower for those that don’t want to see annoying ads every time they turn on their Kindle.

The only downside is they come with a 90 day Woot warranty instead of the standard 1 year Kindle warranty.

According to the listing, they’re Canadian Kindles so that’s why they don’t have ads but there’s no usability difference otherwise.

If you don’t care about the ads and the added requirement of having to swipe the screen to get past them every time you turn on your Kindle, you can get the ad-supported version of the Kindle Paperwhite 4 with 32GB of storage space for only $5 more from Amazon. For some reason they’re currently charging less for the 32GB model than the 8GB model.

Amazon still has the entry-level Kindle on sale for $49 as well, but a Paperwhite without ads for $79 is definitely a better value.

I own Oasis but I love Kindle Paperwhite 4 more. The battery of Paperwhite 4 is much better. Maybe my Oasis has a defective battery. Paperwhite 4 supports the latest Kindle software which has the power saving function.
And it has 8G storage vs the older paperwhite with 4G storage.
The only issue I found is the case or cover the Kindle Paperwhite 4. I used to buy eReader case for less than $10. Now, I found typical decent Kindle Paperwhite 4 case costs more than $10. I managed to find a few decent cases for less than $10 two weeks ago but they immediately are out of stock after my purchase.
A case really matters because it goes with how you handle the reader, assuming you read a long time daily. You need to use the one that makes you most comfortable.
