Kindle Paperwhite on Clearance at Target for as Low as $45

October 12, 2024 by Nathan 1 Comment

Kindle Paperwhite

It looks like Target is clearing out their inventory of Kindles, and there are multiple reports on reddit of people getting the 16GB Kindle Paperwhite new in the box for only $44.99 plus tax.

I’ve seen other reports of some Target stores selling the Kindle Paperwhite for $75. Either way, that’s a great price on the Paperwhite, and is much lower than Amazon has ever sold them for. They were just selling them for $125 during Prime Day. The list price is $149.99 for the 16GB model with ads, so if you can get one for $45 that’s a big win.

This is one of those deals that’s only available in retail stores, and not all stores have them in stock, so you have to call ahead or go to your local Target store in person to check if they have any available on clearance.

Target has already removed the Kindle Paperwhite from their search results on their website so it doesn’t even show up anymore, but I found the Kindle Paperwhite page on Google and you can use the pickup option to see if any stores nearby have any in stock, although they might not show at this point even if they do have them.

Amazon is clearly discontinuing the 11th generation Kindle Paperwhite so that’s why they’re on clearance, but we still don’t have any information whatsoever about a potential new model. Hopefully Amazon will finally announce their new Kindles next week, but that remains to be seen. Some people think that Amazon might discontinue Kindles entirely since they’re mostly all sold out everywhere and Amazon hasn’t announced any new ones, but I don’t think that’s the case.

If you can snag an 11th gen model for $45 it’s worth getting even if a new model comes out next week. Kindle upgrades are usually very minor so there’s probably not going to be a big difference with a new model anyway.

A week or two ago people were getting the Kids Kindle I believe for $35 from Target in stores only too.
