Amazon currently has certified refurbished Kindle Paperwhites on sale for $79 with free shipping, and a Prime membership isn’t required like some of the earlier sales.
The deal includes both the black and white versions of the Paperwhite, but the 3G models are out-of-stock so they aren’t in on the deal this time around, just the Wi-Fi models with Special Offers (ads, which can be removed for an additional $20).
The refurbished Paperwhites normally sell for $99 so that’s $20 off the regular price, and $40 off the price of an equivalent new Paperwhite.
Amazon’s refurbished Kindles come with the same 1-year warranty as new Kindles.
They are often customer returns and open-box units that are usually in like new condition so they’re a good way to save some cash.
At $79, a refurbished Kindle Paperwhite is a much better deal than the entry-level Kindle that sells for the same price new.

All look and run like new and since they include the Original Warranty, I had no qualms.
Make sure to search for the correct covers. I paid between $7-$12 for
basic, plain cases.
