New Kindle Printed Covers Now Available from Amazon

July 29, 2020 by Nathan Groezinger

Kindle Printed Covers

Amazon has released some new cover designs for the current entry-level Kindle, the 10th generation model that was released in 2019.

Amazon calls them Kindle Printed Covers, and they’re available in three different designs—Bookscape, Library, and Mystery.

The covers sell for $24.99 with free shipping, which is $5 less than Amazon’s regular fabric covers.

The printed covers have the automatic sleep/wake feature to turn the Kindle on and off when opening and closing the cover, and there’s a magnet to hold the cover closed.

They don’t specify the type of outer material but the interior has a microfiber liner.

It’s nice to see Amazon finally adding a little flair to their Kindle covers. For years they only sold solid colors, but now they have these new printed covers for the entry-level Kindle and they just released some Hunger Games covers for the Kindle Paperwhite last month.

So far the new printed covers are only available for the entry-level Kindle; they don’t have any for the Paperwhite or Kindle Oasis.

I thought it was kind of odd that the Hunger Games covers came out.. 5 years after the last movie was released. (Although maybe it’s still popular??)

There was a new novel that came out about the time the covers were released.

This is probably more innovation in the Kindle lineup than we’ve seen on 5 years.

I really like them, especially the Mystery one — but them writing “Kindle” on it is distracting

They’re also a bit pricey for the type of cover. I buy printed ones and they’re never that high and usually offer more variety of designs.
