Kindles on Sale Again for up to $60 Off – Why So Many Sales?

August 16, 2021 by Nathan 4 Comments

Kindle Paperwhite Sale

Something weird is going on. Kindle ereaders are on sale again for the third time in less than a month.

I’m starting to think new Kindles might be getting released soon and they’re trying to clear out stock of the old models. I normally wouldn’t jump to that conclusion but three separate sales in less than one month is highly unusual. Granted the last two times they were on sale at Best Buy and not Amazon, but now both Amazon and Best Buy have them on sale.

This time around the prices on the Kindle Paperwhite tie the lowest ever, the same as Prime Day prices.

You can get the 32GB version of the Kindle Paperwhite for only $99. The 8GB version is $79.

The price on the entry-level Kindle is $64.99, but you’d be much better off just spending $15 more on the Paperwhite with a better screen and other upgrades.

Once again the Oasis is absent on this sale, which isn’t surprising since it only goes on sale a couple times a year, but it may also indicate that it isn’t getting replaced anytime soon.

Kindle Sale

Kindle Paperwhite 4 – $79.99 ($50 off) 8GB model

Kindle Paperwhite 4 – $99.99 ($60 off) 32GB model

Kindle Paperwhite 4 – $189.99 ($60 off) 32GB cellular model

Kids Kindle – $74.99 ($35 off)

I’m pumped to see where Amazon goes with their next ereader lineup. I believe they will need to add significant features for them to be the new flagship, such as: a larger reader, better contrast / e-ink tech, and a handwritten note-taking function.

I don’t see people buying a newer kindle with minor upgrades like warmlight for a new paperwhite and/or USB C capabilities.

The cellular version of the Paperwhite is currently unavailable and the cellular version of the Oasis will ship in two to four months.

I am hoping so. It seems sometimes they do new home page updates before releasing a new one as well- not always, but I have noticed that at times.

They are offering me a deal for 60.00 for a Paperwhite in 5 monthly installments of $12.00 right now. Cheapest I’ve seen.

It’s also possible they just aren’t really selling that well and they will do more sales due to this.
