The Kobo Libra 2 is currently on sale at Amazon and Kobo for $159.99 with free shipping. That’s $20 off the regular price, a typical Kobo sale.
I do believe that this is the first time the Kobo Libra 2 has been on sale since it was released last October, at least in the US.
The Kobo Libra 2 has a 7-inch E Ink screen with 300 ppi, and it uses the newer Carta 1200 screen with improved contrast. It also has a frontlight with adjustable color temperature, and I think it looks much better than previous Kobo frontlights.
It has more storage space than the 1st gen model (32GB), and it has Bluetooth for audiobooks and a USB-C port. Plus it’s waterproof.
The Libra 2 is available in white or black, and it’s a solid alternative to Kindles. It has the same size screen as the Kindle Oasis and it’s a lot less expensive, but it’s not as elegant from a design perspective.
See my Kobo Libra 2 Review for more details and to see a video review of the device in action. There’s also this comparison review between it and the new Kindle Paperwhite.

Thanks Nathan!
I finally pulled the trigger and received it earlier this week. Gotta say I really love this one. I believe it has the best frontlight I’ve ever seen on a Kobo ereader, and I’ve had almost all of them beginning with the Aura HD.

Indeed. It really does have a good frontlight, the best from Kobo I’ve seen yet (even the Sage isn’t quite as uniform).
