Back in Febrary of this year Bigme released the Bigme B751C with a 7″ color E Ink screen and Android 11, and it originally sold for $299 (it’s currently $279 at Amazon), but now they’re selling a version without a stylus and a cover for $239.
There’s a separate listing at Amazon for the Bigme B751C without a stylus. Shipping is still a few weeks out, but Amazon is the shipper so it’ll probably ship sooner than the estimate.
It’s not surprsing to see Bigme lower the price on the B751C now that Onyx is selling the Boox Go Color 7 for $249. Both devices are practically clones of each other.
They both share a similar design with page buttons on one side of the screen, and both have the same 7″ color E Ink screen. They have the same amount of storage space and RAM (64GB and 4GB), both have microSD card slots, and they both have a 2,300mAh battery.
They appear to use different processors, but there’s not much difference on paper. The B751C has a 2.3GHz octa-core CPU and the Boox Go Color has a 2.4GHz octa-core CPU.
One difference is the Bigme B751C has a fingerprint reader, while the Boox does not, and the Go Color 7 runs a newer version of Android (Android 12 instead of 11), but otherwise they are both very similar. Onyx also sells a white version of the Go Color with an indented screen, something Bigme does not offer.
It’s funny how two devices from two different companies can be so similar. I just posted a review of the Boox Go Color 7 last week, and it’s a nice device for the price. I haven’t reviewed the Bigme B751C, but it’s good to have more choices in the niche market of color ereaders. Now there are two options with Android and 7″ screens with a design like the Kindle Oasis to go along with the Linux-based Kobo Libra Colour and PocketBook Era Color.
