Amazon has officially kicked off their Black Friday sales on all kinds of products, including Kindles. The Black Friday deals will run through November 28th and then on the 29th the same sales will magically transition to “Cyber Monday weekend” deals.
This year’s deals are surprisingly good. The Paperwhite sales are mostly the same as last month during Prime Big Deal Days, but the 16GB Colorsoft is significantly cheaper at just $169, and the Kindle Scribe 2 is now at its lowest price. But so far none of the Kindle accessories are on sale yet.
The bundle packages are the best deals. The Kindle Colorsoft clear case bundle literally only costs $2 more than the Colorsoft on its own, and the Kindle Paperwhite SE bundle only costs $7 more than the SE on its own.
Also, keep in mind that you can get an additional 20% off these sale prices when trading in an old Kindle. Even if it’s broken Amazon will give you a $5 credit and 20% off.

On Edge on a mac and noticed that amazon will no longer offer filters for reviews – sort by date, sort by verified purchase, filter for specific option. Very frustrating, makes the reviews worthless. If this is something they’re trialing, I haven’t figured out how to communicate that it’s not helpful. The contact us option has been buried deep enough that I don’t want to spend the time finding it at the moment.
The phone app will still let you sort, although it still does that weird cut off after so many reviews.
Otherwise thanks for posting the sales info. I’m still waiting for kobo to follow up their black friday emails with the actual deals.
You can still use the various filters you mention, but I noticed a while back Amazon now requires you to be signed into your account to view that page. To get there you have to scroll to the bottom of the reviews on the product page and click the “See more reviews” link.
