New Kindle Scribes Getting Send to Alexa Feature and More AI Tools

February 12, 2026 by Nathan Groezinger 4 Comments

Kindle Scribe Send to Alexa

The Amazon News website posted a couple of articles today (basically the same article written slightly differently twice) about the new Kindle Scribe and Kindle Scribe Colorsoft, and it looks like some new features are expected to start rolling out soon. Like mid-February soon.

One of the first things both articles point out is the new Kindle Scribes will be able to share notes with Alexa soon. They’re adding a Send to Alexa feature that lets users send notebooks and documents from the Kindle Scribe to, you guessed it, Alexa.

Here’s a quote from the article:

Once shared, Alexa can help you brainstorm, summarize your notes, and turn ideas into action. Get summaries, suggested priorities, and guidance on getting started with projects. Alexa can even transform your notes into to-do lists, calendar events, and reminders, so nothing slips your mind.

They say your shared notes will show up on the Alexa website, on the Alexa app, and on other compatible devices such as Echos and Fire TVs.

The asterisked note at the bottom of both articles says a Prime membership or Alexa+ subscription is required to use the feature. They also say that “Send to Alexa” is expected to start rolling out to the new Kindle Scribe and Kindle Scribe Colorsoft starting mid-February 2026, so probably next week.

There’s no mention of older Kindle Scribes getting this feature or any of the other new features added to the new Kindle Scribes, so don’t hold your breath on that.

It’ll be interesting to see if these new AI-based tools are something that will draw more people in to the Kindle Scribe platform, or if it’ll just be seen as another privacy concern and send people looking for something else. Amazon has an edge over some of the other eNote companies when it comes to the potential of AI-integrated features. That might be a big selling point down the line, or it might be a big deterrent, depending on the circumstances.

To me it seems to produce more privacy concerns. I just no longer trust Amazon and with this and their price of the devices (that some reviewers say still have screen and performance issues), plus their author hostage unlimited program totally has put me off of their devices. I just hope Kobo does not go their route and stays true to their devices and readers.

If Kobo was staying true to their readers they wouldn’t keep refusing to release new black and white ereaders. People have been calling for a new Libra BW for 2 years now and Kobo keeps ignoring them, and people have been hoping for an updated Elipsa with a 300ppi screen for 3 years and they refuse to do that too. I wouldn’t be surprised if they only sell color models 2 years from now.

That’s the direction lately. Look at automobiles for example—subscription services for heated seats….

Well, Everyone has their own opinion and likes/dislikes. I gave away my Clara BW because I really liked the color Clara screen better. I do agree with you that they should have offered a BW Libra alongside the color Libra. I am also one of the ones who is hoping they will release an updated Elipsa even though the current Elipsa is my main daytime reader and I am happy with it paired with the remote.
