Bigme Releasing Weirdest Dual Screen E Ink Phone Yet (Video)

April 15, 2026 by Nathan Groezinger 4 Comments

Bigme HiBreak Dual

Over the years there have been a number of dual-screen devices that have both an E Ink screen and LCD screen (like the Entourage Edge that was way ahead of its time, and the 1st gen Nook, and the Yotaphones), but I’ve never seen anything quite like the new Bigme HiBreak Dual.

At first I couldn’t tell if it was real or a joke, especially after checking out the HiBreak Dual product page on Bigme’s website, where they spelled the name of their own product wrong in the main heading. It does appear to be a legit product, though; it’s just not what I was expecting when I saw that Bigme was releasing a dual-screen smartphone.

There’s really no good way to explain it. The dual-screen application is so unusual that it’s better to just watch the video below. Stuff this weird is better witnessed with your own eyes.

Bigme HiBreak Dual, E Ink + LCD Dual-Screen Smartphone

So it’s basically just another color E Ink phone, of which Bigme has released several of over the past few years, with a small circular LCD sub-screen on the back. The specs appear to be exactly the same as the HiBreak Pro Color, expect the “Dual” adds stylus support.

Here’s a quick rundown of the main specs for the Bigme HiBreak Dual:

  • 6.13″ color E Ink screen with 150 ppi for color and 300 ppi for BW.
  • LCD resolution: 360 x 360.
  • Frontlight.
  • Android 14 OS.
  • CPU: Octa-core 2.6GHz Dimensity 1080.
  • 8GB RAM+128GB ROM; 12GB RAM+ 256GB ROM.
  • Dual SIM cards/5G Global.
  • GPS, NFC, infrared, fingerprint sensor.
  • Stylus support.
  • Battery: 4500mAh.
  • 2.4G/5G WIFI.
  • Bluetooth 5.2.
  • 5MP+20MP cameras.
  • Dimensions: 80.9 x 159.8 x 8.9mm.
  • Weight: 213 grams.

They’re going to start accepting pre-orders on April 16th starting at 7:00 EST, with a starting price of $359 for the first 120 orders. Then the price keeps going up after that in set increments. The “regular” price is listed at $519 for the 8GB version and $599 for the 12GB version.

I think you might have reversed the details: 6.13″ color E Ink screen with 300 ppi for color and 150 ppi for BW.

I wish there were more dual screen devices, especially in this form factor. But the porthole LCD screen seems more like a marketing gimmick than a useable 2nd screen. The pricing escalator seems like a gimmick as well. Points for novelty, I guess.
