New Kobo Collector Cases Released; Plus Kobo Libra Colour Sale

April 24, 2026 by Nathan Groezinger 7 Comments

Kobo Collector Cases

Kobo has released some new limited edition cases for the Kobo Libra Colour and Kobo Clara models that they’re calling “collector” cases. They just got released today, and they have a couple different floral patterns available for each model.

The Kobo Libra Colour collector case is selling for $39.99 and the collector case for the Kobo Clara BW and Colour is selling for $29.99, so they’re the same price as Kobo’s regular covers, which is nice.

They’re also doing a limited time promotion where customers can get this Patio Lanterns ebook by Barbara Kellyn for free with the purchase of a new case.

So far the new collector cases only appear to be available directly from Kobo’s website, and the description says they are an “online exclusive”, but they do offer free shipping.

Kobo also just put the Kobo Libra Colour on sale again for $199 for their Mother’s Day Sale. That’s $30 off the regular price. It’s the exact same sale they did last month; it’s kind of unusual for Kobo to do the same sale twice in one month, and it’s been a couple months since they put the Clara Colour on sale, and I don’t think the Clara BW has been on sale since December. Why does the Libra go on sale way more often than the Clara?

Kobo has a deal on the 10.3″ Kobo Elipsa 2E as well. It’s not on sale, but it does come with a free sleepcover when purchased from Kobo’s website. The sleepcover sells for $69.99 so it’s a pretty significant discount if you look at it that way.

Kobo’s Mothers Day sale ends on May 7th, according to their website. They’ll probably add some ebooks to the sale too, and maybe a discount on gift cards as Mother’s Day gets closer.

Not impressed with designs. I wish they would come out with a better Elipsa 2e case. Their cases are expensive but I usually like their brand cases over others.

On the kobo subreddit you can see a ton of posts about decorated kobo devices, stickers and all. Maybe the Kobo CEO lurks on reddit and sees them. So here we are with these cases.
But if that’s the case, why don’t they see the posts demanding a Libra BW or Sage successor?

It feels like Kobo would release anything except the thing they actually should.

People were doing that, they just got tired of Kobo doing nothing and stopped complaining.

You can get the Elipsa 2E with the free cover from Amazon. Do not add the Elipsa from the listing page on Amazon. Instead follow the link for the free bonus item shown just under the Elipsa name. On the page it takes you to you can then add the Elipsa to your cart and on the left of the page you can click on the benefit item and it will give you the option to add the cover. Your cart pricing will show both items and their prices but when you get to the final check out page it will show the credit for the cover. Plus as a Prime member if you have an Amazon store or credit card you get 5% back on the price.

These are not cases. They are just the back shell. I was very disappointed that it was not a complete cover/case considering the cost.

Wow, that’s super lame. I can’t believe they don’t specify that in the listing. It took me awhile to realize they’re clear, but I never noticed they don’t have a front flap to cover the screen. What’s the point of that?

So it cost $10.00 to have flowers put on. Their clear back shell for the Clara is $19.99.
