Get $5 Kindle eBook Credit; Kindle Oasis 2 for $169

May 15, 2021 by Nathan Groezinger

Kindle Credit

Here are a couple of Kindle deals for the weekend.

If you don’t mind jumping through hoops to get a $5 ebook credit, Amazon has a deal for you (technically it’s only one hoop to jump through).

You can get a $5 Kindle ebook credit when using Alexa Voice Shopping on an Echo Device to purchase a Kindle book. It’s one of those deals where Amazon is trying to teach people new ways to buy more stuff.

First off, you need to have Voice Purchasing enabled. Using the Alexa app go to Settings, select Account Settings, then select Voice Purchasing.

The credit gets applied when you place the order, and Alexa will confirm the promo so you know when you’re getting the credit.

This may be one of those deals that is account dependent, meaning not everyone will get the offer. Check the terms and conditions page at Amazon to see if you qualify and to read the FAQ. The offer expires on May 28th, 2021.

Woot also has the Kindle Oasis 2 on sale again for $169. It’s the upgraded 32GB version and they are in new condition, not refurbished.

These Woot Kindle deals generally don’t last very long, buy you can keep an eye open for new deals on this page at Woot. They also have a bunch of refurbished iPads available, along with the dual-screen Microsoft Surface Duo with the notable distinction of being able to display Kindle ebooks in 2-page view.

I got lucky last week and bought a “new” Oasis (9th Generation) 32GB Wifi+Cellular at Woot for $189.99. It’s worth the extra $20 to me for the cellular connectivity for syncing and look-ups etc. since I take it with me when I am away from my wifi network. I hope I like it as much as my smaller, 8th generation Oasis…
