This New 1.54″ eReader Looks Like an April Fools’ Joke

April 4, 2025 by Nathan 4 Comments

WTF eReader

You never know what kind of weird electronic gadgets are going to turn up for sale on Amazon, but this latest find might be the funniest “ereader” that I’ve ever seen.

I present you with the future of reading. This is a new model for 2025, made from “reliable” electronic components, with precision, stable performance, and a price that can’t be beat.

It’s so awesome that it doesn’t even need a brand name (unless you consider a bunch of random letters thrown together by the manufacturer a brand—PEOTRSMJGI). The title for the product describes it as a 1.54 Inch Wf ereader, but I think that’s a typo and it’s supposed to be the WTF ereader.

The title for the product is just a collection of keywords that makes no sense: “New Ebook E Book Eink E-Ink Reader 1.54 Inch Wf Ereader Upgrade Kindle English Version 2025 High for Reliable Electronic Component, Precision, Stable Performance.”

The description reads like it’s an April Fools’ joke; that’s what marketing speak had devolved into. Here’s a quote for a laugh: “Our products are made with top-of-the-line electronics components, ensuring reliable and long-lasting performance.”

Yeah, that thing sure looks like it’s top-of-the-line, all right. I’m sure they spared no expense on the hardware components. That low resolution 1.5″ screen proves it. They claim it uses an E Ink screen, but it’s hard to tell for sure from one low resolution picture.

The description doesn’t actually include any relevant information about the product whatsoever, but with a picture and a title like that who needs detailed facts and a spec sheet.

Not only does the WTF ereader support reading ebooks, it also has a music player, it can predict the weather, and it doubles as an alarm clock.

All that for the ultra-low price of $99.99! Don’t miss this opportunity to buy the WTF ereader. I’ll take 10!

A dream come true for Kobo mini fans. An in depth review could be comedy gold if the “product” actually exists.

Looking forward to your review. A side-by-side comparison with the Kindle scribe would be nice.

You can find this eReader on AliExpress for a more reasonable ~40 USD, if (morbid) curiosity gets the better of you.

Is that including the new tariff?
