Kindle Deals: Latest Paperwhite $106, Kindle Scribe $199, Kindle $69

Kindle Early Black Friday Sales

Things are going as predicted this month for early Black Friday Kindle sales. First Amazon started with sales on Kids Kindles, which are still being discounted for Prime members, and now Amazon has like-new (refurbished) Kindles on sale for really cheap, and a Prime membership isn’t required.

You can get the latest Kindle Paperwhite for as low as $106.99. But the better deal is the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition for $126.99. They have all three colors available at those prices.

The standard version that’s going for $106 shows ads on the sleep screen while turned off, and it requires swiping the screen to get past the ad every single time you turn the device on. It costs $20 to remove the ads so you’re basically getting the Signature Edition upgrades for free. Without ads it shows the cover of the book you’re currently reading on the sleep screen, or random images, and it doesn’t require swiping the screen when turning the device on.

The Signature Edition adds wireless charging, an auto brightness sensor, it has double the storage space with 32GB, and it’s ad-free by default. It also supports turning pages by double-tapping the sides and back of the device.

Amazon also has the Kindle Scribe 1 and 2 on sale for cheap. These are like-new units as well, which Amazon used to call refurbished. They all come with the same warranty as new Kindles so they’re usually a safe bet.

The Kindle Scribe 1 can be had for $212.99, but they only have the 16GB version in stock. However, all three versions are listed on Woot. They are refurbs too. The 16GB version is going for $199, the 32GB version is $219, and the 64GB model is $249.

If you’d prefer the newer version, Amazon has all three storage capacities of the Kindle Scribe 2 on sale as well. It seems like they screwed something up with the prices; you’d have to be crazy to choose the 16GB version:

Kindle Scribe 16GB – $251.99 ($108 off)
Kindle Scribe 32GB – $251.99 ($126 off)
Kindle Scribe 64GB – $278.99 ($126 off)

Those are a heck of a lot cheaper than the new Kindle Scribe that’s going to sell for $499 when it gets released. The new model has a slightly larger 11″ screen, and it should have a faster CPU, but is it really worth double the price? Most of the new software features are likely to get ported to the previous gen models.

Woot has a couple of older Kindles on sale too. They have the 2022 Kindle for $69.99, and they have the previous gen Kindle Paperwhite SE for $109.99. Both are listed as Amazon refurbished.
