Kobo Vox Review Part 1 (Video)

November 16, 2011 by Nathan

Kobo Vox

Here’s the link to the first installment of the Kobo Vox review.

My Kobo Vox finally arrived at the end of last week. It had some major issues when it showed up that would have caused most people to return it or exchange it, but I’m used to troubleshooting Android devices so after triggering a factory reset with 6 failed boot attempts it was good as new.

Aside from a few minor bugs, it has been working well since then, and I even had enough time to test it and put together this Kobo Vox review part 1 before the Kindle Fire and Kindle Touch arrived yesterday. With all these devices arriving at the same time, including the Nook Tablet, I’ve decided to do the reviews in chunks, so expect more Kobo Vox reviews and comparisons in the coming days and weeks.

I like your positive review and have had a similar experience which you can also read about on my blog: http://www.planetkibi.com/1/post/2011/11/the-kobo-vox-a-user-review-from-a-non-tech-geek-standpoint.html

I’ve experienced that issue too that you mentioned in your review where the Kobo seems to sometimes freeze after going into sleep mode. Usually if I persist and hold down the power button for like 20 seconds it eventually turns on. It also flicks the screen on momentarily in sleep mode after 5 and 10 minutes of being off.
