Yesterday Kobo announced that they’ve added Visa Checkout to Kobo.com as a new payment option in addition to credit cards and PayPal.
Kobo and Visa are trying to entice people by giving away a $10 credit for Kobo.com after using Visa Checkout to complete a purchase. The $10 credit gets applied directly to your Kobo account.
The promotion runs from June 1st to June 20th, so it doesn’t start until Monday when the calendar switches over to June.
Using Visa Checkout is an easy way to get ten free dollars to spend on an ebook or two.
For those unfamiliar with Visa Checkout, it’s sort of similar to PayPal. It’s a third-party payment service accepted by a growing number of online merchants. You can setup an account for free and use it with all major credit, prepaid and Visa Debit cards.
It seems that Visa Checkout is making a strong push to gain more customers this year. Chapters.Indigo is currently running a 20% off sale through the end of May for people that use Visa Checkout, and a lot folks have been taking advantage of the deal to get 20% off the Kobo Aura H2O and the new Kobo Glo HD.

Has anyone managed to use this? Visa checkout is not showing up as a payment option for me (outside of US) and on Kobo’s blog page (http://cafe.kobo.com/blog/visa-checkout-now-available-at-kobo-com) the link they give to http://www.kobo.com/visacheckout is dead.

Visa Checkout shows up as an option for me in the US. There must be some geographical limitations.

Made a purchase with Visa Checkout on 6/2 and I’m wondering when I can expect this $10 credit to appear in my account? Anyone receive it yet?
