Valentine’s Day is coming up next month so Kobo has a couple of their ebook readers on sale for the holiday.
The 6-inch Kobo Nia is marked down to $79 from the regular price of $99, and the Kobo Libra H2O is $149, down from the usual price of $169.
Both are available directly from Kobo.com and from Walmart in the US.
This is the first time that Kobo has put their budget Nia model on sale since it was released last summer, at least in the US. $79 is a good price for a 6-inch ebook reader with an E Ink screen, but you can get a refurbished Kobo Clara HD for only $10 more, and it has a higher resolution screen and an upgraded frontlight with adjustable color temperature (the Nia lacks the warm color option).
The Kobo Libra has the upgraded frontlight as well, along with a 7-inch E Ink screen that has 300ppi. The device is also waterproof and it adds page buttons along one side.
Both models come with 8GB of storage space, micro USB ports, WiFi, and they support 14 formats, including ePub, PDF, CBR, CBZ, MOBI and ebooks with Adobe DRM.
According to Kobo’s website the sale prices are valid from January 29th through February 11th, 2021.
