If you’re an Amazon Prime member, you might not know that one of the perks of having a Prime membership is being able to get a free Kindle ebook each month from a selection of new pre-release books.
This month Prime members can select two free ebooks from Amazon’s First Reads program, and one is a new novel from Dean Koontz called The Bad Weather Friend.
If you’re not a Prime member, you can pick two of the books to buy for a discounted price of $1.99. Then in February when the books officially get released the price will go up to the regular list price. Most of the First Reads books will also be made available through Kindle Unlimited next month after they get released, so that’s another way to get access to them as well.
You have through January to pick which two ebooks you’d like to get for free with Prime, or at a discounted price without Prime. Some people like waiting until later in the month to see how the reviews turn out.
There are ten books to choose from this month from different genres, so you might be able to find something interesting to read.
In case you didn’t know, another perk for Prime members is the option to get certain ebooks, magazines, and audiobooks through Prime Reading. You don’t get to keep the content but there’s a rotating catalog of ebooks and audiobooks that you can borrow anytime. It’s basically a watered-down version of Kindle Unlimited without the added monthly expense.

Thanks for the heads up on the Dean Koontz. I couldn’t tell you the last time I took a first read selection; sometimes even deleting the email unread. Most often they are not in genres I like, or I read the blurb and am not interested. I’ll probably get the Dean, and will check out the rest!
