If you’re looking to score a Kindle for cheap, Woot is having another Amazon Devices sales event for their 21st anniversary. In typical Woot fashion, most of the Kindle deals were already sold out after like 5 minutes, but there are still a few deals to be had.
They’re practically giving away some of the older Kindles. For instance, you can get a refurbished 2019 Kindle for $29.99. Plus they’re taking an additional 21% off during checkout so that takes the price down to $23.70.
It doesn’t get any cheaper than when it comes to ereaders with E Ink screens, but knowing Woot they probably have like 5 in stock so they won’t last long. If you want to continue to be able to remove the DRM from purchased Kindle ebooks, getting your ebooks off of a Kindle is one of the few ways that still works.
Woot also has the previous gen Kindle Paperwhite from 2021 for as low as $59.99. With the 21% discount that takes the price down to $47.40. These are listed as Amazon refurbished Grade C scratch and dent, so apparently they aren’t in great condition. The non-S&D options are already sold out.
Keep an eye on the Amazon devices sales page at Woot for more deals. They might add some more Kindle deals as time goes on, but the sales event ends on June 13th, and so does the 21% discount.
Woot also has the first Kindle Scribe on sale as part of a different sale so the 21% discount doesn’t apply. But this deal is a joke. It’s like Woot didn’t even check Amazon’s prices before they started this “sale”.
Basically, they’re selling the first Kindle Scribe in refurbished condition for $10 less than Amazon is selling the Kindle Scribe 2 in brand new condition. How stupid is that?
Right now Amazon has the Kindle Scribe 2 on sale for $299 for the 16GB model, and $319 for the 32GB model, and $349 for the 64GB version.
In contrast, the Woot sale has the Kindle Scribe 1 for $289 for 16GB, $309 for 32GB, and $329 for 64GB. These are listed as Amazon refurbished so that’s clearly not a very good deal. Amazon used to put them on sale for less than that when they were new.
