Onyx is hosting a new product launch event tomorrow (or later tonight, depending on your time zone), and one new device has already turned up on Amazon UK, complete with a couple of images that reveal a good amount of information.
The Note Air5 C is Onyx’s latest eNote with a 10.3″ color E Ink screen. There’s a picture of the back of the box with most of the key specs (listed below), and they’re mostly the same as the Note Air4 C. The overall design appears similar as well, but there are two new buttons on the side, and it looks like there are pins on the back, probably for a case/keyboard accessory.
The Amazon listing (and the box) says the Note Air5 C runs Android 15, which would be the latest version for an Onyx device. The Note Air4 C runs Android 13. I don’t recall any Boox devices coming with Android 14 so apparently they’re skipping over that version.
The listing says the Note Air5 C supports the “Pen3”, which, if accurate, means it does indeed use an EMR touchscreen, which is good news. Some of Onyx’s newer devices use USI touchscreens that some consider a downgrade.
So far the Amazon listing shows the Note Air5 C as being unavailable to purchase so the price isn’t listed yet. The Note Air4 C sells for $529, although Onyx will probably drop the price now, but I’d expect to see a similar price for the new version since it doesn’t look like they changed a lot.
I’ll update this post tomorrow with more details and probably a video after Onyx releases more information.
