Kindle for iOS Updated to Version 4.2

April 24, 2014 by Nathan Groezinger

kindle iOS

Amazon issued a minor update yesterday for their Kindle for iOS reading app for the iPad and iPhone.

The update version 4.2 adds easy access to the table of contents for most ebooks from the left panel menu.

Instead of just redirecting users to the book’s table of contents at the beginning on the book like before, there’s now a generated table of contents show right on the left panel window with chapter headings and page numbers.

The second change with the 4.2 update is how the X-Ray feature works.

Instead of having to select X-Ray specifically after highlighting a word, now X-Ray pops up automatically instead of the dictionary when you highlight a name or word with additional X-Ray information. The process has been streamlined like how it is on Kindle devices.

The Kindle for iOS app is available from the Apple App Store.
