Where to Buy Kindle Devices and Content Listed by Country

Sometimes I like to browse through Amazon’s Kindle-related help section to find new article ideas (coming up with new topics to write about every day isn’t easy) and today I came across some helpful information about where users can purchase Kindle devices and content listed by country, including a list of all the retail stores that sell Kindles.

It’s pretty hard to keep up with all of Amazon’s various international stores and content policies, so this is some pretty useful information. I’ve been covering the Kindle since 2009 and I’ve never even heard about some of this stuff.

For instance, I bet you didn’t know that US Kindle users can buy Kindle content from Amazon.com or Amazon.cn, Amazon’s China Kindle store.

It’s kind of odd that just those two are an option. Some countries, like Switzerland, have 5 Kindle stores they can choose to purchase content from.

Another thing I wasn’t expecting is the lengthy list of retail stores that sell Kindles in the US, or at least have demo units on hand to test. There are way more stores than I would’ve expected. I thought Kindles were only sold in like 4 retail stores.

Fire tablets with 4G connectivity are available for customers living in the United States, France, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, and Germany only.

Ad-supported Special Offers devices are only available for customers living in the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, or Spain.
