Here’s a list of ebook stores that sell ebooks in EPUB format that can be downloaded using Adobe Digital Editions, along with a few ebook stores that sell ebooks without DRM.
Ever since Amazon started making it more difficult to get ebooks in their older Kindle format where the DRM can easily be removed, some people have been looking for other ebook stores to buy from that sell EPUBs that can have the DRM removed.
Not all EPUB ebooks are on the same level. There are different DRM schemes to keep ebooks locked into certain systems, like Apple with iBooks. So if you want to be able to read your purchased ebooks on certain devices, you’ll want EPUB ebooks that use Adobe Digital Editions, or even better, EPUB ebooks without DRM at all.

List of EPUB eBook Stores
Kobo – This is one of the best placed to buy ebooks from if you want to be able to download them in EPUB format using Adobe Digital Editions. Kobo uses their own KEPUB format for ebooks on their devices, but the EPUB version can usually be downloaded from your account on their website. At the bottom of ebook product pages it says if they’re available in EPUB format.
Google Play Books – The Google ebook store also sells ebooks in EPUB format that work with Adobe DIgital Editions. To download a purchased ebook from Google, you have to select the “Export” option from your account.
eBooks.com – This website has been around for a really long time but a lot of people don’t know about it. They have a wide selection of ebooks and they’re a good alternative to some of the bigger ebook stores. Most of their ebooks are compatible with Adobe Digital Editions so you can download them to read on various devices. Just hit the “supported devices” list on the product page for ebooks to see if it supports ADE.
Smashwords – This is an indie bookstore and that sells ebooks without DRM and they’re available in EPUB format.
Baen – This website sells science fiction and fantasy ebooks, and they’re all DRM-free and available in EPUB format.
Books-A-Million – This is another website that sells EPUB ebooks that can be downloaded using Adobe Digital Editions. The formats supported are listed on the ebook product pages.

Angry Robot – UK publisher, sells their books (mostly speculative fiction like Baen) on their website without DRM.
Jane Badger Books (UK publisher) also sells ePub without DRM.
However, you need to like vintage British pony books, as that is the niche represented. That said, the shopping experience is easy, PayPal is taken, and no geo restrictions for myself in the USA.
Prices are also very reasonable!
