Amazon has a bunch of early deals leading up to their awkwardly-named Prime Big Deal Days event, including some digital deals on Kindle Unlimited, Comixology and Audible memberships.
I already posted about the early Kindle deals on bundle packages and the now previous generation Kindle Scribe (you can get the Kindle Scribe 2 for less than half the price of the new Kindle Scribe Colorsoft), so this post is a roundup of deals not listed in that earlier Kindle deals post.
Some of the deals are Prime exclusive deals and some are not. Amazon is advertising the 3 free months of Comixology deal on their main Prime Deals page, but it actually doesn’t require a Prime membership. I’m not sure about the other subscription deals, but it’s easy to verify (just click the link).
Digital Deals
Kindle Unlimited – Get 3 months for free. Offer varies by account. Not all accounts are eligible, especially if you already redeemed a similar offer earlier this year.
Comixology Unlimited – Get 3 months for free. Offer varies by account. Prime not required.
Audible – Get a 3-month Premium Plus membership for $1 per month, which includes 1 audiobook per month of your choice. Offer varies by account.
Up to 65% off Books – A sale on Kindle ebooks and print books.
First Reads – This doesn’t have anything to do with Prime Big Deal Days, but Prime members can claim 2 free ebooks through First Reads this month instead of the usual 1.
Kindle Woot Deals
A few previous gen Kindles are on sale at Woot for the next 4 days or until they run out of stock. They are refurbished Kindles so they aren’t brand new. Given that, the deals aren’t great. It wouldn’t cost much more to get a new current gen Kindle with a full warranty during the Prime sale next week.
Kindle 2022 – $69.99 – Both blue and black versions are available.
Kindle Paperwhite 2021 – $109.99 – Apparently this is the Signature Edition, even though Woot doesn’t say it is, but the description says it has 32GB so that would have to be the SE, but it also says it has ads, which the SE doesn’t have, so which is it, Woot?
Kindle Scribe 1 – $249.99-$299.99 – The first Kindle Scribe with the dark bezel can be had for as little as $249 for the 16GB version. That’s $50 less than the Kindle Scribe 2 is currently selling for on Amazon while it’s on sale, and they’re almost exactly the same except for the color.
I keep forgetting First Reads is a thing because Amazon rarely promotes it. I have noticed it keeps popping up on my home screen for the Kindle App and on my Colorsoft in the past few days. Is it because I rarely check it out and therefore I’m a lost cause, so why bother promoting?
