Kobo has put a couple of their ebook readers on sale to start off May.
The Kobo Forma is marked down to $199 for the 8GB model; the 32GB version is out of stock.
Considering the Forma normally sells for $249, that’s a great price for a waterproof ebook reader with an 8-inch E Ink screen that has a frontlight with adjustable color temperature.
Kobo’s smaller 6-inch Kobo Clara HD is on sale as well. It’s marked down to $89 from $119.
It’s not waterproof like Kobo’s larger models, but unlike the Kindle Paperwhite, it has a frontlight with adjustable color temperature. It has a 300 ppi E Ink screen and 8GB of storage space. Considering there isn’t a hidden expense of $20 to remove ads like on Kindles, $89 is a bargain for a nice 6-inch ebook reader.
The 7-inch Kobo Libra is not currently on sale. Kobo has it listed as “out of stock”.
The sale prices are valid from May 1st through May 14th on Kobo’s website. Free shipping is included as well.
So far Walmart still isn’t showing any Kobos on sale but maybe that’ll change with time. The same two models are showing up as being on sale from Indigo in Canada.
