Kobo has put the 6-inch Kobo Clara HD on sale again for $99, which is $20 off the regular price.
It’s not quite as good as last month’s sale at $89 but it’s better than paying full price, and it’s a lot better than the inflated prices from sleazy 3rd-party vendors from Walmart and Amazon where it’s currently selling for $149 (that’s $30 above the MSRP).
The sale price on the Kobo Clara HD is valid through June 18th from Kobo’s website. They also have the 8GB Kobo Forma back in stock, but it’s not on sale this time around.
In Canada, Indigo also has the Kobo Clara HD on sale for $115 CAD.
The Kobo Clara HD was released in June 2018, and it’s Kobo’s last remaining 6-inch model now that the cheaper Aura 2 has been discontinued.
It has a 300ppi E Ink screen with a frontlight that has adjustable color temperature. It has 8GB of on-board memory, along with Wi-Fi for downloading ebooks, and it supports OverDrive directly for library ebooks.

I wonder if the Nia will be just the 6 inch Clara reinvented into the Libra and Forma format. I wish they would announce something soon.

I think the next Kobo will just be a cheap Aura 2 replacement that will hardly be worth mentioning. Hopefully I’m wrong.
