Kobo has the Kobo Clara HD marked down to $99 with free shipping on their website.
The Clara HD is Kobo’s best 6-inch ebook reader. It’s an upgrade over the Kobo Nia that Kobo also sells for $99. The Clara HD adds a higher resolution screen (300ppi) and a frontlight with adjustable color temperature, so it’s clearly a better device than the Nia, despite being 2 years older.
Kobo’s ereaders support ePub, PDF, MOBI, HTML, CBR and CBZ formats, among others, including Adobe DRM, and they can download public library ebooks directly through OverDrive.
The Clara HD has 8GB of storage space, 512MB of RAM, and a 1GHZ processor, with Wi-Fi for downloading ebooks.
It’s kind of weird timing how it currently makes zero sense to buy the entry-level Kobo or the entry-level Kindle because of sales on other models.
Walmart doesn’t have the Clara HD on sale this time for some reason. The sale is only available directly from Kobo.
See my Kobo Clara HD review for more details about the device.

Thanks for the info. Can you tell me if $99 is the lowest price even for Kobo Clara HD? I seem to remember seeing Amazon listed this model or something similar for $89.99 about a year ago. At that time, I was going to order but I already ordered another e-reader. It is possible that I saw a different Kobo ereader.
If Walmart is having this sale now, I would buy it from them. I have good experience with shopping ereaders from Walmart.

It’s been down to $89 a few times. Kobo also has refurbs for $89.

Thanks for this. I broke down and bought one. Saw they had a refurb for $89.99 on their site right now, too.
