New Nook Glowlight 4 in Pearl Pink Now Available

July 14, 2022 by Nathan 11 Comments

Nook GlowLight 4 Pearl Pink Limited Edition

Barnes and Noble has released a new version of the Nook Glowlight 4 that features a white front and a pink back.

They’re calling it the Nook Glowlight 4 Pearl Pink Limited Edition and it’s available to pre-order now. The release date is July 26th. Since it’s a Limited Edition they say it’s only available while supplies last, so who knows how long it will be around.

It’s the same price as the original black Glowlight 4 that was released last December, which normally sells for $149.99. But currently both are on sale for $119.99 with free shipping.

Aside from the color difference, it’s exactly the same as the black version of the Glowlight 4. It has a 6-inch 300ppi E Ink screen and a frontlight with adjustable color.

There’s 32GB of storage space, it has a USB-C connector and page buttons, and WiFi for connectivity. I think this model’s software is based on Android 8.1, with a quad-core 1.5GHz CPU.

This isn’t the first time that Barnes and Noble has released a limited edition Nook available in a different color. It’s nice to have different color choices when buying so maybe they should start doing this more often.

On a side note, why does Barnes and Noble still insist on using such low resolution images on their website for Nooks? A 300 x 330 fuzzy image is the best picture we can get of the new Nook. What year is this, 2004?

I simply don’t care about colors since I use a case. I suppose most people also use cases.

Nook was my first tablet/eReader. I have a LOT of Nook Books. But after becoming comfortable with Kindle, I don’t even bother with my Nooks any longer.

Yes, but unless I’m outside, I take my readers out of the case to read. The one exception is the Boox Nova Air C because the page buttons are part of the cover. Sometimes I still take that out too.

I wish they would concentrate on an updated 7.8 size reader instead of offering colors of something they already have.

I prefer my Glowlight 3 with the wider case and larger memory for side loaded books. I have big hands and big fingers . The GL 4 is too small 🙂

Is there a limit on side loaded content again?

Nathan, can you comment on this?

The website says, “29.1 GB for NOOK Store content and side-loaded content” so I would assume that’s accurate, but apparently it’s a bit more convoluted than that.

Read this article and tell me what you make of it . Looks like 6gb for epubs side loaded . Perhaps some one with a GL4 could comment on the memory for side loaded books

I would like the Amazon release a small ereader with buttons. I like small and portable ereader, but I prefer buttons too. I like kindle oasis, because the physical buttons. I loved the kindle 4 old version, small and with page buttons, but after they changed only the expensive ereaders with buttons. I think ever ereader needs allow this.

I purchased the pink. It is made from different material. The black one feels rubberized and soft the pink is all hard plastic but I like the feel of it better. Pink is simply stunning and the white face makes the book your reading look brighter and more crisp. The device is very fast. Faster than my kindles by leaps and bonds. i am reading my first book on it now and it is enjoyable. I still wish we had more customization but its still a really good evice
