Kobo is now offering a gift card deal for Boxing Week that they’re advertising on their website, and the deal varies by country.
In the United States you can get an $8 “bonus eGift” when purchasing a $40+ gift card. On the Canadian version of Kobo’s website the offer is different. Canadians can get a $10 bonus when buying a $50+ gift card.
Regardless of location, the deal ends on January 8th, 2023.
The offer is limited to one per customer.
Apparently you can buy the eGift card from Kobo or from one of their authorized retailers. The stipulations aren’t exactly clear, but here’s a quote from the page on Kobo’s website:
Make a reader’s day with the perfect present. Send them an eGift for the amount of your choice, or buy a Digital Card at a retailer near you for a gift amount or an audiobook subscription.
Here’s the page on Kobo’s website where you can redeem gift cards and learn more about the deal: Kobo gift cards.
Walmart also sells Kobo gift cards but they used to erroneously charge sales tax for them even though they aren’t supposed to, and I don’t know if that has changed or not. Also, gift cards cannot be returned after purchase so make sure you know what you’re purchasing, and the gift cards have to be redeemed on Kobo’s website, not Walmart’s.
If you’re having problems with gift cards, here’s the help section on Kobo’s website about gift cards and eGifts.
