Last year I posted a list of Prime Day predictions for Kindle sales at Amazon, and I was pretty close but not spot on, but it was fun trying to guess what the deals would be so I wanted to try again this year.
Prime Day is one of the best times of year to get Kindles and other Amazon devices for the lowest prices of the year, along with Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Prime Day is on July 11th and 12th this year so it’s about a week away.
Last year they were selling the entry-level Kindle for $45, but then they released a newer version later in the year so I highly doubt it will be anywhere close to that price again.
Check Amazon’s Prime Day deals page for the official list of Kindle deals when they start on July 11th.

Kindle Deal Predictions for Prime Day 2023
Kindle Scribe ($249.99) – This is a tough one because it hasn’t been on sale for Black Friday or Prime Day yet. So far the lowest sale price it has sold for is $282.99 back in May, and that was a Prime Exclusive Deal. I originally had this listed at $279 but I decided to lower it considerably after Amazon started selling the bundle packages for $285 as an early Prime Day deal.
Kindle ($69.99) – This is the newer entry-level Kindle model that was released in October of 2022. It normally sells for $99.99 and the lowest it has sold for so far is $79.99. The Prime Day price has to be lower than that, but it’s not going to be as low as last year’s price since it’s a newer model.
Kindle Paperwhite 5 ($89.99) – I’m guessing the 8GB version with ads will sell for $89.99 and the 16GB version will go for $99.99. That’s a bit lower than last year so maybe I’m being too optimistic.
Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition ($129.99) – They were just selling these for $114.99 refurbished so I figure the price for new ones is going to be at least $15 higher.
Kindle Paperwhite Kids Edition ($104.99) – Amazon was just selling these for $89.99 as an early Prime Day deal a couple weeks ago, but that was the 8GB version and now they only show the 16GB version on their website, so the lower capacity version is probably being phased out.
Kids Kindle ($69.99) – They were selling these for $79.99 on Mother’s Day so the price has to be lower than that for Prime Day.
Kindle Oasis 3 ($159.99) – My guess is the price will be slightly lower than the past Black Friday deal where they started at $164.99. I think the bigger question is how much longer can the Oasis 3 remain on this list. This is the 4th Prime Day it’s been involved in; at some point it’s going to have to be discontinued or upgraded.
Kindle Covers – 20-27% off

I was hoping that they would sell Scribes by Prime day here in Mexico, but so far nothing.

I’m hopeful that the Scribe drops even lower, maybe to $250 or $260. I don’t think it’s sold as well as Amazon hoped or expected, considering the decent discounts that it’s gotten already

I think you might be right on the $250 mark (they might even go for less than that). I decided to lower my prediction by $30 on July 6th after they started selling bundle packages for as low as $285 as an early Prime Day deal.
