Amazon has every Kindle model and Kindle bundle package on sale for Prime Day, and the sale prices are the lowest ever for the current generation of Kindles.
Last week I posted about all the Kindle bundles that are on sale, and I’ve updated that post with all the new deals on Kindles and Kindle accessories for Prime Day. For this post I’m just going to focus on the best Kindle deals overall.
Prime Day is the best time of year to buy a new Kindle because that’s when their prices are at the lowest. Mark my words, the prices will not go lower for Cyber Monday and Black Friday (those sales aren’t as good as they used to be now that Amazon knows everyone has been conditioned to expect sales that time of year).
These deals require a Prime membership to get the sale prices. If you don’t have Prime you can sign-up for a free 30-day trial if you haven’t already done so during the past year, and young adults (18-24) can currently get 6 months of Prime for free.

Best Kindle Paperwhite Deals
In my opinion, the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition at $149.99 is the best Kindle deal for Prime Day.
The base Kindle Paperwhite is marked down to $124.99, but you’re much better off just paying the extra $25 to get the ad-free, upgraded SE version. It costs $20 alone to get rid of the ads on the base model, so it literally only costs $5 more to get the Signature Edition, which adds more storage space, wireless charging, an auto brightness sensor, it has a nicer metallic finish on the back, and the SE has the ability to turn pages by double-tapping the sides and back of the device.
If you’d rather pay less for the base Kindle Paperwhite, the better deal is actually the Kindle Paperwhite Kids bundle for $129.99. For an extra $5 you’re getting a case and an upgraded 2-year warranty that covers accidental breakages (including cracked screens), unlike the standard 1-year Kindle warranty.
Best Kindle Deal (Basic)
Amazon has the basic entry-level Kindle on sale for $84.99, but you could make the arguement that the Kids Kindle bundle is actually the better deal at $94.99 because it adds a cover and upgraded 2-year warranty.
The basic Kindle is really lightweight and it’s more portable than the Paperwhite, but I personally think the Paperwhite is a much better deal for the price. It has a bigger screen with better contrast and a better frontlight with warm temperature control. It also has nicer build quality, it’s faster, it’s waterproof, and has double the battery life.
Best Kindle Colorsoft Deal
Amazon has the Kindle Colorsoft on sale for $179, which is $100 off the regular price. That’s a great price if you want a color Kindle, but color E Ink isn’t for everybody. Make sure to check out my Kindle Colorsoft vs Kindle Paperwhite comparison video to see how the two screens compare.
Best Kindle Scribe Deal
The Kindle Scribe is on sale for as low as $259 for Prime Day, but the best deal is the Kindle Scribe Essentials Bundle for $269.97. Adding a cover and a charger is easily worth the extra $10.
