New OBOOK6 is an Android eReader With a 6″ Screen for $119

January 22, 2026 by Nathan Groezinger Leave a Comment

OBOOK6

I came across a new ereader listed on Amazon called the OBOOK6, and the price seems reasonable for a 6-inch E Ink device with a 300ppi screen, but the screenshots make it look like the ebook software isn’t very good.

The main product image (shown above) shows how bad the formatting is when it comes to displaying English-language books. Not only is the spacing horrible, the software adds an extra space after apostrophes. For some reason this is a common thing when it comes to ereaders from China—I’ ve encountered it several times over the years with other brands as well.

Fortunately, the OBOOK6 runs Android so it should be able to install other reading apps like KOReader with competent functionality. But they don’t mention what version of Android the OBOOK6 runs anywhere in the listing.

There are two versions of the OBOOK6 on Amazon. One has 2GB of RAM with 32GB of internal storage space, and it’s selling for $119.98. There’s also an upgraded version with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage for $149.98.

The OBOOK6 uses a Cortex A55 CPU. The device supports dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth, and it has a USB-C port. There’s also Dark Mode, and it has a frontlight with adjustable color temperature. The weight is listed at 143 grams. The battery size is 1700mAh.

These are the supported formats listed, and obviously it can support more via apps: TXT, EPUB, MP3, MOBI, DOC, FB2.HTM/HTML, AZW3, PRC, RTF, TCR, CHM.

This is the second OBOOK ereader I’ve come across. They released the OBOOK5 last fall with a 4.26″ screen. It actually has pretty good reviews, but it’s hard telling if they’re legit or not. The few included customer photos make the screen look really grainy and low quality, but that model is using a lower resolution, lower end display. The OBOOK6 should have a nicer screen, but it looks like the software leaves something to be desired.
