Prime Members Get Two Free Kindle eBooks in January

January 1, 2019 by Nathan

Amazon First Reads

One of the perks of being an Amazon Prime member is the fact that you can get a free Kindle ebook each month from a selection of new exclusive books at Amazon.

This month Amazon is offering Prime members two free ebooks from their First Reads selection (formally Kindle First).

There are six books to choose from across various genres.

Prime members have until the end of January to claim their two free ebooks.

There aren’t any reviews yet for the books since they were just released to Prime members this month, so you might want to wait a few weeks if you’re not sure which books to pick.

For non-Prime members the books don’t get released until next month, and if you have a Kindle Unlimited subscription you’ll be able to access them with that.

If you are an Amazon Prime member it can be difficult to keep track of all the different benefits available, so don’t forget to claim your two free ebooks this month. There’s Prime Reading as well for access to more free reads, but you don’t get to keep those books, just borrow them.

How do you become a Prime member?

At the top of the Amazon website there’s a link saying “Try Prime” or something to that effect. I think they offer a 30 day free trial. After that the options (in the US) to continue are $119/year or $12.99/month. People on certain forms of public assistance can get it for $5.99/month.

There are lots benefits. Free 2-day shipping on most items shipped by Amazon, free video streaming of Prime Video, a decent selection of free music to stream (many more titles if you pay extra), and early access to daily deals.

You have to either be a student and get a 6 month free amazon prime trial, then you pay a largely discounted price, or you can pay full price for amazon prime. It is worth it if you use amazon and have a kindle. You get prime music, prime video (kind of like Netflix), 2 day free shipping, amount other things like kindle first reads. Where you get to pick (normally, though this month January you get 2) one book from a list of six brand new books that haven’t been released yet. It’s really cool, I usually enjoy at least one of the kindle firsts, though some months I don’t like any. Enjoy them, and happy new year!

How do I find out what are the free books to choose from?

Please send me a list of free books offering this month. I’m an kindle unlimited member and I noticed some members can pay as little as $5.99 when I pay $10.99 a month.

I have tried to claim my books for this month and the website says they are not available until 1st Feb. This must be wrong.

I did not receive my offer this month. When did it go out?

I just tries to order these “free books” and the area where to purchase said the book cost $1.99. I thought two books were free.
