    I love to read and i love my kindles but for my birthday 5 to 6 months ago my dear friend bought me a new kindle fire. After just 5 short months my kindle will no longer take a charge. I have called kindle and they havent helped me a bit.

      Amazon stopped calling their tablets Kindles 5 years ago to avoid confusion. They’re just called Fire tablets now. They aren’t Kindles. The 7″ and 8″ models only have a 90 day warranty so you’re sol unless it’s the 10″ version, which has a 1 year warranty.

      When an electronic gadget doesn’t work, sometimes there are fairly simple things you can do to fix it. I found these steps you can try to troubleshoot a Fire tablet not charging. The worst case scenario is you find out the charging port has gone bad. Even then, you could take the tablet to a local cell phone repair shop and see how much it would cost to replace that. Hope it’s a simple fix like a bad power cord.

    Thanks for the this. It works with the older Kindle version only: Kindle 1.17. If you have a later version you must replace it with that one or an even older one. Make sure you un-check updating Kindle
