Amazon has rolled out a new deal where you can get a $3 credit toward the purchase of select Kindle ebooks, but the credit is limited to one ebook purchase per month.
There are currently 50 ebooks to choose from, including some popular titles with lots of favorable reviews, so you might be able to find something you’re interested in reading. Most of the books are available through Kindle Unlimited, but you can get a discount when purchasing them using this offer.
I saw this deal mentioned over at Slickdeals, but I haven’t seen Amazon advertising it anywhere yet. By the way the terms and conditions are worded, it makes it sound like this is a new thing they are going to be doing every month (the terms say “Limit one credit per customer and account per month”).
The terms also mention the credit is only valid in the US and the District of Columbia.
Apparently there’s no way to view the credit and the credit isn’t indicated anywhere on the product pages for eligible books, so I don’t know how Amazon expects people to find out about it.
Here’s a quote from the terms and conditions page:
“The promotional credit will not be visible in your account, but will automatically apply to the purchase of the next qualifying Kindle eBook. The promotional credit can be viewed in your Order Summary after you place an order for an eligible Kindle eBook.”
Maybe it’s a targeted offer for anyone who Amazon considers an “avid reader”, but it seems to be valid for all US accounts based on the terms. Outside of location, there aren’t any other exclusions that would suggest this offer is only available for select accounts but maybe I’m missing something.
Check the terms and conditions page at Amazon for more details and to see the list of eligible ebooks.
