Nook News: New Nooks and Firmware Upcoming

April 19, 2010 by Nathan Groezinger

There's some interesting Nook rumors floating around the web. Gizmodo and some other websites are reporting that a Wi-Fi only Nook (dubbed Nook Lite) is coming within the next couple of months that will supposedly sell for just $199.

And there's also supposed to be a Nook 2 sometime later this year that has something to do with “Project Encore”–details are sketchy at this point.

And last but not least, another Nook firmware update is supposedly coming out next week that will include a web browser. Web browsers are pretty lame on E Ink devices, but with the Nook's LCD screen web browsing may be a huge plus. We'll have to wait and see.
