Barnes and Noble just announced a new back-to-school promotion where they are giving away twelve ebooks from their classics series, twelve SparkNotes, three Nook Study guides, and four Nook Color apps with the purchase of a Nook Touch, Nook Color, or 1st Gen Nook.
The offer is good both online at B&N.com and in Barnes and Noble retail stores. In order to get the free content, you have to buy a Nook by the end of the day on September 11th and then register it with a Barnes and Noble account by October 31st.
The Barnes and Noble Classic ebooks include introductions, footnotes, endnotes, and additional information about the book and author. The SparkNotes are study guides akin to CliffNotes. SparkNotes is owned by Barnes and Noble, in fact. The Nook Color apps are free anyway, so that’s not saying much. I guess they included them for organizational purposes, and obviously aren’t going to do any good on the Nook Touch or Nook Classic.
