It looks like Amazon is experimenting with some new creative cover designs for their Kindle for Kids bundle.
The Kids Kindle doesn’t appear to sell nearly as well as the other Kindles (it only has 43 posted reviews after being available for over 1 year) so they’re probably looking for new ways to make it more appealing.
The new designs include a cover with a pink butterfly, a cover with bookworms and books, and a cover with a kid reading in space.
Unfortunately they aren’t even in stock yet but they are available to purchase.
Currently the Kids Kindle is selling for $79 with the Valentine’s sale. The regular price is $99.
The shipping estimate for the new covers is 1 to 4 months out, a fairly broad estimate. They could show up later this month or not until mid-June. Apparently nobody knows for sure…
Of course the Kids Kindle is no different than the entry-level Kindle. It just comes with a cover and a 2 year warranty. The Kindle hardware and software is exactly the same.
