Amazon has a new deal to get started on Kindle Unlimited, which provides open access to a catalog of over 1 million ebooks and several thousand audiobooks, along with some magazines and comicbooks.
The banner for the deal is at the top of the main Kindle Books page. With the promo you can get two months of Kindle Unlimited for $0.99.
After that the price goes up to the usual $9.99 per month.
The offer isn’t valid for current subscribers and it has to be redeemed by March 11th.
With the regular Kindle Unlimited offer you get a 30-day free trial so this is basically like getting the second month for $0.99.
The only real downside with Kindle Unlimited is the lack of titles from big publishers, but it’s one of the best ways to find new authors. Here’s the list of books in Kindle Unlimited to get an idea of what’s available.
When subscribed to Kindle Unlimited you can read and listen to as many ebooks and audiobooks as you want each month, and they allow a maximum of 10 books being downloaded at one time before you have to return one to get another. You can keep the titles downloaded as long as you’d like while the subscription is active, and then when you cancel the service you lose access to them. It’s more like renting books instead of purchasing them.

FYI, it took a couple refreshes of the page before that offer banner showed up for me. Off to set a reminder to cancel april 30, and then look for books!
