Amazon has had the current Kindle and Kindle Paperwhite 4 on sale all week for Black Friday, and now they’ve added the Kindle Oasis 3 to their list of Kindle deals.
The 8GB Kindle Oasis is marked down to $174.99 ($75 off) and the 32GB Kindle Oasis is $199 ($80 off). The 4G LTE Kindle Oasis is also $80 off.
Plus if you pay with an Amazon Prime credit card you can get 10% back in points.
Kindle Oasis covers are on sale as well.
The leather cover is marked down to $37.99 from $49.99, the premium leather cover is $48.99 (down from $64.99), and the fabric cover is selling for $29.99, down from $39.99.
There’s no indication on how long these sales will last, but hopefully they’ll remain active through Cyber Monday.
This is a surprising move by Amazon. They virtually never put the current Kindle Oasis model on sale. Last year they didn’t even have the entry-level Kindle on sale for Black Friday, so this has turned out to be an exceptional year for Kindle deals.
I consider the new Kindle Oasis the best ebook reader on the current market because of the exceptional frontlight, premium build quality, and reliable software. The only thing I don’t like is the cold metal back during winter, but you can keep it in a cover to avoid cold hands

Do you recommend the Oasis over the Nova Pro if I am primarily going to be reading .epub and .pdf files, for example, from nostarch.com ?
Yeah, the Nova Pro is going to be better if you primarily read those formats.

I wonder how many took advantage of this great deal? I ordered mine as soon as I got the email of this blog post, and I won’t get it until December 14 – 15. Shortly thereafter, delivery time on the Amazon page was changed to December 27 – 28 and has pretty much stayed there after the Oasis went back up to its normal price. So glad I took advantage of it when I did!
