A submission for a new device called the Boox Go 10.3 has turned up on the FCC website from Onyx International.
Most of the details are confidential until November, but it looks like the new device is probably the international version of the Note X3 Pro that Onyx recently released in China.
At this point it’s not certain, but there’s a picture of the back of the Boox Go 10.3 that looks just like the Note X3 Pro, and Onyx alreadys sells two other 10″ eNote products with the Note Air line and the Tab Ultra line, so reasonably this would have to be something new and different.
The China-exclusive Note X3 Pro has a 10.3″ 300 ppi E Ink Carta 1200 screen, so that would make sense for the Boox Go 10.3 to be the international version of it.
When I first saw the name “Boox Go” I thought it would be something small and portable, but the “10.3” designation clearly refers to the screen size, and the product name refers to it as a note-taking tablet.
If it’s based on the Note X3 Pro we can expect the Boox Go to have a 300 ppi E Ink Carta 1200 screen, with an octa-core CPU, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, and Android 12.
Based on the FCC paperwork being submitted now, the Boox Go 10.3 probably won’t hit the market until the end of the year, but it’s good to know Onyx finally has a 300 ppi eNote with a black and white screen in the works (they already sell 10.3″ color eNotes with 300 ppi).
When Onyx released the Note Air3 last December, there were a lot of groans from people about it having a 227 ppi screen, but so far the Kindle Scribe has been the only black and white eNote available with 300 ppi. Hopefully the Boox Go 10.3 will end that trend later this year.

A 300 ppi bw reader outside the Am$n system would be very welcome, especially with a very recent version of Android OS.

Is there any difference between carta 1200, 300 ppi and carta 1300, 300 ppi electronic paper display?
Nathan says
Apparently Carta 1300 screens are a little faster, but judging by the new Kobo Clara BW the Carta 1200 screen on the earlier model has darker blacks: Carta 1300 vs Carta 1200.
