Both Kindle Kids Bundles Now On Sale – Better Deals Than Prime Day

August 19, 2024 by Nathan Leave a Comment

Kindle Kids Sale

Amazon is running another sale again, with up to 40% off on Amazon devices, and both the Kindle Kids and Kindle Paperwhite Kids are included in the deals (and they’re not just for kids, in case you didn’t know).

They’re only 21% off, not 40% off—that’s where they the infamous “up to” comes in to spoil things—but these deals are better than the sales Amazon had during Prime Day (worst Prime Day deals ever) for the same two bundles, and the Paperwhite Kids bundle is the same price as the regular Paperwhite was during Prime Day, and it includes some extras so this deal is better on both fronts.

Here are the links to the deals:
Kindle Kids – $94.99 ($25 off)
Kindle Paperwhite Kids – $134.99 ($35 off)

The Kindle Paperwhite and Kindle Oasis covers that I posted about a couple weeks ago are still on sale as well, and so is the wireless charging dock for the Signature Edition Paperwhite.

As noted in my Kindle Paperwhite 5 review, the models that Amazon markets as “Kindles for Kids” are in fact exactly the same as regular Kindles. They’re really just bundle packages that add a cover, an upgraded 2-year warranty (which covers accidental breakages, unlike the standard warranty), and a 1-year subscription for Amazon Kids+ to a regular Kindle.

All kids Kindles can be used as regular Kindles and vice versa. There’s no actual difference between the Kindles themselves; the only difference is you don’t get the option to get 3 months of Kindle Unlimited for free when buying a kids Kindle bundle. It’s also worth noting that kids Kindles are no longer ad-free when using them as a regular Kindle; they’re only ad-free when using kids mode.

With that said, this is a good deal for both kids and adults that want a new Kindle, and there’s no sense paying more for a regular Kindle right now and not getting a free cover and an upgraded warranty.
