It looks like Amazon has started rolling out some early digital deals leading up to their Prime Big Deal Days event that starts on October 6th.
First off, these are the types of deals that vary by account so not all accounts are eligible, and they’re usually only valid for new and some returning subscribers, and it looks like an active Prime membership might be required to get access to these deals.
Either way, some folks are getting the option to claim 3 months of Kindle Unlimited for free. This is something Amazon offers a couple times a year, and you might be able to take advantage of it if it’s been awhile since you last claimed it.
If you get the 3 months KU deal you just have to remember to cancel it before the 3 months is up if you don’t want Amazon to automatically start charging you the regular fee of $11.99 per month, but you can cancel at anytime, including immediately after activating the offer.
Amazon also has a deal on Audible memberships for some Prime members where you can get 4 months of Audible Standard for $1 per month. It normally costs $8.99 per month, and it will auto-renew at that price after 4 months if you don’t cancel before then.
With Audible Standard you get 1 audiobook per month from Audible’s full audiobook collection, along with unlimited access to podcasts. The main limitation with the Standard tier is you can only access your audiobooks while you have an active membership. With the Premium plan you retain access to your monthly audiobook selections even if you don’t have an active plan. Premium is the better option for that reason alone, but they don’t seem to offer these types of deals on Premium plans much anymore.
