Kobo eReaders on Sale for Valentine’s Day, up to $50 off

January 29, 2024 by Nathan Leave a Comment

Kobo Valentines Sale

If you’re thinking about getting a new Kobo ereader for yourself or someone else, now is a good time while they’re on sale for Valentine’s Day, which is coming up on February 14th.

The sale ends on February 8th so you have about a week and a half to get the sale prices, and the deal is valid from Kobo’s website and through their authorized retailers on Walmart and Amazon.

It’s basically a standard Kobo sale that takes $30 off the Kobo Sage and $20 off the Kobo Libra 2. They also have the Kobo Elipsa 2E on sale for only the second time since it was released last year, and it’s $50 off the regular price, the same as it was for Black Friday.

That means you can get the Kobo Elipsa 2E for $349 instead of the usual $399. It has a 10.3-inch E Ink screen and it doubles as an ereader and notebook. Check out my Kobo Elipsa 2E review for a full rundown of the features and to watch a video review of it in action.

Kobo is also selling the “Kobo Elipsa Pack” for $349, but that’s for the 1st gen Elipsa and it’s not really a sale so don’t be fooled thinking you’re getting a bundle package for the same price. They should have put it on sale too; charging the same for the 1st and 2nd gen models is kind of silly.

The Kobo Sage is marked down to $239 during this sale, which is $30 off the regular price. The Kobo Sage is a premium model with a flush front screen and page buttons. It has an 8-inch E Ink screen, and the device can be used as a notebook like the larger Elipsa, but unlike the Elipsa, it doesn’t come with a Kobo stylus so you have to purchase one separately.

The 7-inch Kobo Libra 2 is on sale for $169, which is only $20 off the list price. Kobo doesn’t discount their ereaders nearly as much as Amazon does during a sale, but it’s still better than paying full price, and the Kobo Libra 2 is a really nice device. See my Kobo Libra 2 review for more details.

Neither of Kobo’s 6-inch models are on sale this time, but they do have the previous generation Kobo Clara HD available for $89 refurbished from the Kobo website. That’s $50 less than the newer Kobo Clara 2E is going for right now, and there’s hardly any difference between them, as noted in my Kobo Clara 2E review.
