Amazon has the latest gen Kindle Paperwhite and Kindle Scribe on sale for really good prices. They are listed as “Like-New” so they aren’t brand new, but the discounts are significant.
Amazon used to call them certified refurbished Kindles, but now they call them Like-New Kindles. That’s a better description for them because I don’t think Amazon ever did any actual refurbishing. They still come with the same 1-year warranty as new Kindles, and they’ve been tested to work.
Here are the links to the Kindle deals:
- Kindle Paperwhite – $106
- Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition – $126
- Kindle Scribe – $269
The Kindle Paperwhite SE is an especially good deal considering it costs $20 to remove the ads so you’re basically getting the Signature Edition upgrades for free at that price compared to the standard model. It’s worth the extra $20 just to remove the requirement to swipe the screen to get passed the ad every single time you turn the Kindle on.
The Kindle Scribe deal is really good too, provided you don’t want the color Kindle Scribe that’s expected to come out later this year, but it might cost almost twice as much as these Like-New Kindle Scribes.
The 16GB Kindle Scribe starts at $269.99. Brand new it sells for $399.99 so that’s a great price. The 32GB version is going for $282.99 and the 64GB model is $305.99, which includes the metallic jade color. Brand new the 64GB version sells for $449.99.
It’s weird how Amazon is selling Like-New versions of all the new Kindles that were released last year (the base Kindle is available too but it’s currently not on sale), except for the Kindle Colorsoft. What are they doing with all the returned Colorsofts?
Kindle Unlimited Free 3 Months
I’ve seen some reports online of Amazon Prime members getting an offer for 3 Months of Kindle Unlimited for free.
It’s one of those deals that varies by account so don’t get your hopes up. It’s for new subscribers only, and some returning members that haven’t had a subscription for a while. If you recently redeemed one of these KU offers you most likely won’t get this deal, but it’s worth checking to see.
