The Novo 7 Paladin is a cheap tablet from China that sells for as little as $89 to $119. It runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and comes with some decent features for the price. But that doesn’t mean it’s necessarily worth getting. Or does it…
Check out the full Novo 7 Paladin review for the run down on this cheap Chinese import.

Here’s the link to the newly-uploaded iPad 3 vs Kindle Fire comparison review. Both tablets are a lot alike in many ways, and yet very different.
The review includes a list of advantages for both the iPad and Kindle Fire and includes some photos, screenshots, and an HD video review. Hit the link below to jump to the full review…

Yesterday I put together this iPad 3 vs Asus Transformer Comparison Review. It includes some pictures, screenshots, and an HD video.
I’ll admit that comparing the new iPad with the Transformer 1 instead of one of the newer Transformers is rather odd at first glance, but the operating system, Android 4.0, is the same, and so are 95% of the features.
And since Android 4.0 is mostly the same on other tablets too, the review can also be referenced as an iPad 3 vs Android 4.0 tablet review for the most part.

I’ve pretty much had eyes glued to the new iPad since it arrived last week. I haven’t even taken time to write any blog posts for three days so I guess it’s time to put the iPad down and get back to work
.
I managed to put together the first page of the iPad 3 review. It contains a video review and some thoughts on various aspects of the new iPad. But no pictures because I found it was too difficult to effectively show the new high resolution screen. Even screenshots are just too large—the file size—to embed without cropping and shrinking, which negates the benefit.
I plan on adding a lot more to the review in time, including reviews of specific ereading apps and some comparisons and tutorials. But I’d rather be playing video games, surfing the web, or reading on the new iPad so it might be a few days
.

I decided to order one of the new iPads to review because I wanted to see the new high resolution retina display and how it adds to the ereading aspect of the iPad.
I’ve always been critical of the iPad 1 and 2 as ereaders because I never liked how pixelated the text appears, and not just with ereading apps but with other apps too, including the web browser. When text isn’t crisp and clear it bothers me because I’m so used to the super-clear text on E Ink ereaders.

There is now an Alpha release of CyanogenMod 9 available on the Nook Tablet for Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The build is still in its early stages of development so it’s not recommended for public consumption at this point, but I went ahead and installed it anyway and am surprised by how well it works and how smooth it is already.
I decided to put together a video review showing Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on the Nook Tablet, and a second video showing how to install CM9 on your Nook Tablet and how to add Google apps.

Running Android 4.0 on the Kindle Fire is one of the many options to change out the operating system from Amazon’s version to one that is more open and widely available on other tablets and smartphones.
I’ve already posted a review and how to guide for CM7 on the Kindle Fire, a custom version of Android 2.3 Gingerbread. For this review and tutorial I’ll show you CM9 on the Kindle Fire for the latest version of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

CynangonMod is aftermarket software for Android phones and tablets, including the Kindle Fire. Developers have been hacking the Kindle Fire since day one so it’s not surprising to see CM7 running on Amazon’s first tablet.
There are different versions of CynangonMod, each based on a different version of Android. CM7 is for Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The Kindle Fire runs on Andoird 2.3 natively but it’s been heavily modified by Amazon to include the Kindle Fire’s unique interface.

Asus started rolling out the official Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for the original Asus Transformer tablet yesterday in Taiwan and the US and other countries today.
First thing this morning I went into settings to check for the update and it immediately started downloading. So I’ve been testing out the new ICS operating system all day and decided to put together a video review and a quick article describing some of the new features.

CM7 is free open source aftermarket software for Android-powered devices that is based on Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread. It provides for a more customizable and open alternative to the stock interface of the Nook Tablet that is locked into Barnes and Noble and cutoff from its true Android roots.
The video review below will give you a look at CM7 on the Nook Tablet and what features it offers, and then the tutorial will guide you through the entire process of setting up CM7 on your Nook Tablet from beginning to end.
